Etrog

Etrog is the yellow citron used by Jewish communities during the week-long festival of Sukkot — one of the most ancient cultivated citrus fruits, with documented cultivation stretching back thousands of years. The fruit looks like a large, bumpy, ribbed lemon and is very aromatic. The very thick rind has small segments and many seeds — note that planting near seedless citrus varieties can cause cross-pollination and make their fruit seedy. Cold intolerant, it is often best grown in a container. Has mercilessly sharp thorns — handle with care.
