Enid

Enid is a self-fertile, soft-shelled almond variety that is well suited to warmer NZ regions — a low-chill variety recommended for Northland, Auckland and other areas with limited winter cold. Produces heavy crops of sweet, soft-shelled nuts. Self-fertile, making it a practical standalone choice. Almonds blossom in late winter so plant in a sheltered position to protect the early blossom from frost and strong winds. Deciduous. Requires good drainage and full sun. Available from specialist NZ nut nurseries.
