Elephant Heart

Elephant Heart is a premium Japanese plum producing very large, distinctively heart-shaped fruit — one of the biggest-fruited plums available. Dark red skin with extremely sweet, juicy and richly flavoured dark red flesh. A superb, freestone plum for fresh eating at its very best. Mid to late season, ripening February to March — one of the later-season plums. Needs a pollinator such as Santa Rosa. Grows to 5m×3m. Available at Springvale, Waimea and The Plant Store NZ.
