Desert King

Desert King is a bronze-skinned fig producing medium to large fruit with striking red flesh. A San Pedro-type fig that does not require pollination to fruit in NZ — NZ has no native fig wasps, so all figs here are effectively self-fertile. Matures after harvest — pick when fully coloured and slightly soft. No main crop. Good fresh eating variety.
