d'Agen is a French European prune plum originating from the Agen region of southwest France — the most famous prune-producing region in the world, where this variety is still grown at scale for the celebrated Pruneaux d'Agen. Red to gold skin, golden flesh, medium-sized fruit. Freestone. An excellent plum for fresh eating and outstanding for drying into prunes and cooking. Mid-season. Self-fertile. Available from specialist NZ heritage nurseries.
