Crewena 1 (Chestnut)

Crewena 1 is a NZ-selected sweet chestnut variety producing large, easy-peel nuts with excellent flavour. It is one of the named NZ chestnut selections developed for reliable home garden and small orchard production. Chestnuts are best roasted, boiled or used in stuffings and festive cooking. Pollinated by Lincoln Gold for best nut set. A vigorous, long-lived deciduous tree reaching 15–20m at maturity. Hardy and adaptable to most NZ soil conditions.
