Conference

Conference is a classic heritage English pear — one of the most popular pear varieties in the UK and widely grown in NZ. Produces mid-season, long-necked, greenish-russet fruit with good, juicy flavour. Partially self-fertile — it can set a reasonable parthenocarpic crop without pollination, though yields are heavier with a pollinator nearby. A reliable, consistent performer. Growing to 5m×3m in full sun with good drainage. Available at Wairere, Waimea and NZ nurseries nationwide.
