Cats Head

Cats Head is an ancient heritage apple with origins in England around 1600 or earlier — named for its distinctively box-shaped fruit that resembles a cat's head. A genuine piece of apple history, one of the oldest named varieties still being grown. Large fruit with characterful, old-fashioned flavour. Of historical and heritage value as much as culinary value. A rare and fascinating variety for heritage enthusiasts. Requires a pollinator. Late season. Available at Wairere Nursery.
