Castlebrite

Castlebrite is an early-season apricot originating in California, USA, bred specifically for reliability and early bearing. It produces medium-sized, firm, bright orange fruit with a slight red blush and a semi-sweet flavour that can be tart unless fully ripe. A low-to-medium chill variety needing around 500 hours, it is well suited to most New Zealand growing regions. Good for fresh eating, jamming and bottling. Self-fertile and consistently productive.
