Castanea 1005 (Chestnut)

Castanea 1005 (Chestnut) nut trees have always been popular with the keen orchardist but you do need quite a bit of space for them. Medium to large, high quality, sweet nuts of small-medium size fall free of their prickly 'burr' at the end of Summer. Very heavy crops on mature self-fertile trees. Grafted, fruits when 3-5 years old. The tree is very vigorous and grows large. It is a good pollinator for variety 1015.
