Bonanza is a Honduran hybrid banana variety (FHIA breeding programme) that is more cold and wind tolerant than most banana varieties, and produces higher quality fruit in subtropical conditions — making it one of the best choices for NZ home gardens. Excellent tasting, sweet and creamy fruit. Grows to 3–3.5m. Available from Exotica NZ, Northland.
