Blue Dawn / Takahe (SH)

Blue Dawn (also known as Takahe) is a Southern Highbush blueberry producing large, very tasty berries. A low-chill variety suited to warmer NZ growing areas where standard Northern Highbush types struggle to get adequate winter rest. Named for the takahē, the iconic large native NZ bird. Southern Highbush varieties are the most practical blueberry choice for North Island gardeners outside of the Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa. Self-fertile. Available from specialist NZ blueberry nurseries.
