Bledisloe Cox

Bledisloe Cox is a New Zealand sport of the famous English apple Cox's Orange Pippin, selected in 1932 and named after the then Governor-General of New Zealand, Lord Bledisloe. It inherits the rich, aromatic, sweet and nutty Cox flavour that makes the parent variety so revered. The fruit is striped red over a greenish-yellow background and has the fine-grained, juicy flesh characteristic of Cox-type apples. A reliable and consistent cropper, it is considered easier to grow in NZ conditions than the English Cox. An all-purpose variety good for fresh eating, cooking and juice.
