Blanche (Cape White)

Blanche (also known as Cape White) is a heritage fig producing small, green-skinned fruit with creamy amber flesh. Important note: this variety suckers very vigorously and can spread through underground roots — management of the root system is essential to keep it contained in a garden setting. Small fruit, good flavour. All NZ figs are self-fertile — no pollinator required. Grows to 3–4m. The suckering habit can be managed by root barriers or regular removal. Available from specialist NZ heritage nurseries.
