Black (NZ Heirloom)

Black NZ Heirloom is a NZ heritage fig producing small, dark-skinned figs with pink flesh, creamy texture and very sweet flavour. An early variety — best enjoyed fresh as a March treat, before the heavier mid-season varieties. The small fruit size and exceptional sweetness make it a connoisseur's fig. All NZ figs are self-fertile — no pollinator required. A living piece of NZ horticultural heritage. Grows to 3–4m in full sun with good drainage. Available from specialist NZ heritage nurseries.
