Benton is a day-neutral strawberry that blooms from late spring through to autumn, producing fruit through summer and autumn. Suited to cooler growing conditions and hardy. Produces good-sized berries with sweet flavour over an extended season. A practical all-season variety for home gardens. Self-fertile — like all strawberries. Suits hardiness zones 8b through to 10b, making it one of the more cold-tolerant strawberry varieties available in NZ. Available from NZ specialist berry nurseries.
