A heritage variety popular as a cooking and fresh eating apple with firm, crisp fruit and excellent tart flavour. Considered one of the best apples for making sauce, the large orange-red, russeted, fruit gets more aromatic and sweeter during storage. Easily stores 3-4 months. Forms open, wide-spreading and weeping tree.
