Apple / Hamoa

Apple / Hamoa is a small banana variety notable for its good cold tolerance — more adaptable than the Cavendish types to cooler NZ conditions. Produces dense, plump, sweet fruit of small size with a distinctive apple-like flavour note that gives it its name. The plant grows to approximately 2–3m, making it more manageable than full-sized banana varieties. Suited to sheltered, warm NZ gardens. Available at Exotica NZ and Flying Dragon Nursery NZ.
