Aorangi is a versatile all-purpose NZ apple known for its excellent storage qualities — red-skinned, crisp, sweet fruit that keeps particularly well for a home garden variety. A reliable, practical apple well suited to NZ home orchards. Named for the Māori name for the South Island (also Mount Cook), suggesting NZ heritage origins. Good for fresh eating and cooking.
