Alphonso

Alphonso is often called the King of Mangoes — a premium Indian variety producing medium-sized, richly aromatic fruit with golden-yellow skin and buttery, fibre-free flesh at 21–24% sugar content. Floral, tropical cream flavour. One of the most prized mangoes in the world. December–January harvest. Ben's Garden in Kaitaia grows only Indian varieties, which show exceptional vigour and health in NZ. Mangoes are viable in frost-free Northland, Auckland and Bay of Plenty with shelter.
