Almond 402

Almond 402 is an early and prolific-bearing almond variety producing large, soft-shelled nuts with good sweet flavour. An extended flowering period helps ensure reliable pollination. Also valued as a pollinator for other almond varieties. Partially self-fertile — will produce some crop alone but crops more heavily with a companion almond variety. A vigorous and productive variety. Deciduous. Requires a warm, sunny, sheltered position with excellent drainage. Available from specialist NZ nut nurseries.
