Albany Beauty is a NZ-raised sport of the Gravenstein apple — a distinct local selection developed here from the classic European variety. Produces large, distinctive fruit with very juicy flesh and a sharp, distinctive flavour — slightly different from the parent Gravenstein. Excellent for both dessert eating and processing. An early-season variety that stores for a few weeks. A genuine NZ contribution to apple heritage. Available from Mara Whenua / Tasty Trees.
