The Albany Surprise grape, occasionally known as Isabella, is a black, seeded variety renowned for its large, very sweet, and slightly spicy fruit. This grape is exceptionally vigorous, showcasing robust growth and a remarkable resistance to various diseases. It is hardy and adaptable, thriving in most climates.

While the Albany Surprise grape is likely to perform well across a range of environmental conditions, it does require some specific care to reach its full potential. During the spring growth phase, it is essential to provide a sheltered spot, protecting the plant from harsh frosts that could damage the new growth. With proper care and attention, the Albany Surprise grape will reward growers with an abundant harvest of delicious, sweet, and spicy fruit.Grapes will grow in most soils but do better with good drainage and of course they love the sun. It is deciduous. It is also suitable for wine production.
